JCCHOME Linux - Server/Workstation Distribution

JCCHOME Linux is a Debian stable based distribution.  This gives the user access to stable packages that can be trusted to run a small to medium sized business.  Several packages are compiled directly from git sources, depending on how dependable they are in order to assure that modern packages are supplied.

A couple of the things that really set this version apart, are the immediate upstream kernel availability, and the suite of management software, written specifically to help a user manage several tasks. The kernels are usually available the day after they are announced on kernel.org and this allows the end-user to select older LTS kernels or the ability to use newer kernels as well.

  • Docker Management

Deploy the latest version of docker and start deploying containers in minutes

  • Samba4 Active Directory

Deploy and provision a new active directory server or an additional AD Server in a couple of minutes. Simply answer a few questions and you're off. You can also join a PC to a domain as a file server or workstation with Winbind authentication. Network shares and permissions can be managed from File Explorer.

  • Easy System Management

Start right away with a menu designed to help you do anything you need to do, like manage networking or install feature sets

  • LAMP Server

Install and manage a complete LAMP Server with the push of a button. Select a PHP version and easily manage MariaDB-Server (MySQL Compatible)

  • Hypervisor

Setup a complete hypervisor using QEMU-KVM and libvirt. With the GUI installed, use virt-manager to manage your system. Easily perform live migrations and installations. There's also special utilities to help ease backup and restore processes. The backup utility automatically computes checksums against backups and the restore utility automatically verifies these before the restore begins. This can even be used to provide roles such as virtual desktops or virtual server instances.

  • Kernel Management

The latest and Longterm kernels are available for use and the system automatically keeps the latest 3 installed so you have prior kernels to fall back on

  • Automatic Updates

There's an automatic update utility which can be called to update everything on a schedule you choose, or manually if you like. Updates can be hard to manage, and can even break things. This utility takes the hardship out of managing updates and even handles when updates don't complete correctly, the next time it's run.

  • GUI Management

You can automatically install GUI's such as GNOME, Cinnamon, KDE, and LXDE from the server management tool and be up and running in minutes. These are compatible with local pam and with Samba4 Winbind based authentication.

  • E-Mail Server with local and active directory based authentication (Coming Soon)

Postfix and Dovecot based email server, with a one-click installer using the built in menu management system. Easily manage domains and users, and link users to Active Directory if desired.
